Our Philanthropy

Expanding Black British Academics’ remit to include philanthropy reflects our commitment to help address pressing global priorities of this century from social needs such as education, health and employment to the threats posed by climate change and environmental degradation. Our outward focus on transformation reflects a moral imperative to use our collective knowledge, skills, and expertise to develop solutions to global inequalities that impact populations across the African, Caribbean, Asian, South American and Australasian continents. These inequalities and the actions needed to address them are clearly articulated in the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which is central to our Mission. We bring expertise in interdisciplinary, emancipatory research, inclusive education, and the harnessing of intellectual and social capital to empower underserved communities. We look forward to contributing to a more humane, just, and equitable world.
