About the Department
The Department has a long history of supporting scholarship that develops outside of fixed disciplinary borders and attends to under-explored subjects and subjectivities. You will join research-active and welcoming colleagues committed to inclusive pedagogies, social and ecological change.
About the Role
You will be able to deliver generalist and introductory undergraduate courses to both large and small groups as well as devise and deliver specialist modules to second- or third-year students across our three BA degrees (History of Art, Curating, and Fine Art and History of Art) in the first instance. You may also be involved in postgraduate delivery. You should have an innovative approach to your research, an interest in the relations between creative and critical practice, and/or inventive forms of pedagogy.
About the Candidate
You should have both a broad knowledge of modern and contemporary art histories and visual cultures from global and transcultural perspectives as well as bring their own research specialisms. These may include, but are not limited to decolonial and black aesthetics, screen studies, digital cultures and/or aural cultures.
