Applications are invited for the Royal Academy of Engineering’s Research Chairs and Senior Research Fellowships (RCSRF).

About the Scheme
RCSRF empowers mid-career and established UK engineering academics to lead ambitious, applied research in collaboration with industry. The scheme provides up to £450,000 over five years, alongside part-time options and tailored support, to enable researchers from all engineering disciplines and diverse identities to deliver real‑world impact. The scheme is currently open for applications and closes on 26 March at 4pm

Support for groups underrepresented in UK engineering
Innovation starts with individuals who bring unique perspectives, expertise and ambition. Pre-application mentoring from Academy Fellows is available to applicants from groups persistently underrepresented in UK engineering through the Academy’s Access Mentoring scheme. Early submission of Access Mentoring requests is encouraged (deadline 12 March).
Summary
WHAT IT IS: A five‑year programme offering up to £450,000, protected research time, and mentoring and training to help engineering academics establish or grow a high‑impact research group in collaboration with an industry partner.
