Congrats to Dr Marcia Wilson on her promotion to Associate Dean

We warmly congratulate Dr Wilson for her recent promotion to Associate Dean of the School of Health, Sport & Bioscience at the University of East London (UEL):

Dr Wilson holds a PhD in Sports Psychology from the University of Iowa, USA, a Masters degree from the University of Texas, Houston and  a Bachelors degree in Physical Education & Education Studies from the University of Bangor, Wales. She previously lectured at Coker College, South Carolina, USA and University of Gloucestershire, prior to joining UEL in 2008. Her research interests are in achievement motivation, expectancy theory in sport, and sress and anxiety.

In 2014 she was selected for the Best Lecturer award out of 400 nominees and strives to ensure that under-represented groups have a voice in sport and sports academia.

We are sure that Dr Wilson will inspire many young, Black female students to pursuse academic careers while still pushing for equality and social justice.
